Equine Diagnostic Services
Through the use of our diagnostic imaging tools, we collate information and create a clinical health picture for your horse, which enables us to provide an ongoing management strategy. Not only do we have access to high quality imaging equipment, we also have the know-how to perform advanced radiography and ultrasonography, along with interpretation of the findings. Our unique skill set, also lends itself to engaging with referring horse health providers.
GAIT ANALYSIS
Ability to objectively measure and monitor your horses’ gait.
RADIOGRAPHY
High quality, wireless digital x-ray technology to assess both the limbs and axial skeleton.
ULTRASONOGRAPHY
​​High powered ultrasound to provide ultra sonographic information on difficult to image areas such as the neck, back, sacroiliac and lumbosacral joints, as well as the lower limbs.
ENDOSCOPY
High definition video endoscopy for the upper airways, lung and also a 3 metre endoscope to assess the stomach for ulcers.
TREADMILL
High speed treadmill for exercise and testing dynamic upper airway endoscopy.
BLOOD ANALYSIS
In-house blood machines to assess immune function, red cells, lactate, inflammatory markers and body systems such as liver, kidney and muscle enzymes.
SURGERY
Our veterinarians can perform a number of surgical procedures both under standing sedation and general anaesthesia. These include periosteal elevations for managing foal limbs, castrations, basic hernia repair, as well as surgeries to manage wounds of all shapes and sizes.
